July 19 2013

Jess- Sorry guys I misplaced this one and just found it. Here is the last blog post I received from Dad. If you haven't heard already we got his appeal results! All charges have been reversed(: He will be sent back to Clallam County Jail in the next 30 days to see if the judge will require another trial or not. Lets hope not and that he is released ASAP!!!!!!

Here is his post:

"If we pray and seek our Father in heaven's face (2 Chronicles 2:14), He will answer our prayers. I have seen this firsthand many times during my time incarcerated: Here on earth we have such a limited perspective of whats truly going on around us. Our view is often set on our immediate surroundings and what directly affects or benefits us. God sees what the overall picture is of all the players involved and not just us and has the best interest of all in mind.
While waiting to be sent out from Clallam Bay my prayers were for God's will not mine to be done. My view, as usual, was self-centered. To go to Monroe to stay close to family and spend time with my son Jake. God's view was much wider and not focused only on me. At the last minute I was sent to Coyote Ridge in Connell (Eastern Washington). God's plan proved better for many.
I prayed for a very lost young man on the bus ride over and ust two weeks ago watched him give his life to the Lord. After being here for a month, I was moved to another cell because of issues between the cellmates there where they needed to be removed and separated. Another man, Rick, was moved in there with me the same day. I was his answered prayer as he was under severe persecution for being a Christian in another cell that were practicing Satanists. It was the first peaceful night's sleep he had gotten since coming to prison. Yet another confirmation of my journey here.
Then two weeks ago I had a clear vision of a package arriving. Still stuck on me I assumed it would be my answer to my appeal. That morning, returning from breafast, there was a young man standing in our corridor that I instantly recognized.
Nick was a young Christian that had attended services and Bible studies with me at Clallam Bay. He had gone home over a year ago. He had struggled with his Christian walk and became overwhelmed with all that life was throwing at him. He returned to hid old way of coping, drowning it with alcohol. He soon found himself back in handcuffs for various violations.
Nick was sent to Walla Walla close custody even though he had medium custody points. He was left there for five months enduring extreme conditions. The God of love is also a God of justice. A loving Father needs to give His children correction at times for their own good. This does not lessen the amount of love He has for them and often grieves Him more than the child. A hug usually follows. I was Nick's hug. Even though he was here for only two weeks before moving on to camp God placed him here for me to encourage, dust off his foundation based on God's Word (Jesus Christ), and pray for him.
God's answers to prayer are not always in our timing or even what we would view as good. For instance, I believe my being in prison is a long awaited answer to the prayers of my faithful parents who never stopped praying for my situation. Coming to prison was the only thing that finally made me a captive audience and got my attention. I want to publically thank them for their faithfulness here and pray that I will be as diligent with my children and show them the true meaning of the word of love. Only God's love can truly define it.
